Dr Thomas Fischer is Deputy Head of the Center of Management Research at the German Institutes for Textile and Fibre Research in Denkendorf. He deals with Textile 4.0, i.e. the digitalisation of textile value creation, and the resulting issues regarding innovation, production, learning, business models and sustainability. His work also focuses on knowledge-based systems, big data and AI in production and product development.

Mr Fischer studied technical cybernetics (Dipl.-Ing.) at the University of Stuttgart and did his doctorate on the topic of cross-company innovation management as part of an EU project.
