Maya currently works as Incubator Director at Nahdet El Mahrousa, actively working within the social innovation space and impact driven startup scene in Egypt. Maya has 12 years of experience specializing in capacity building of impact-driven organizations and social enterprises, impact investment, impact measurement, program management and business model innovation Over the past 4 years, Maya has managed to support serving 250+ impact-driven early-stage and growth-stage startups in business validation and growth strategies, manage 6 different social entrepreneurship programs and participated in co-developing and delivering 8 validation bootcamps and design thinking workshops for early stage social enterprises. Maya joined Nahdet El Mahrousa (NM) in 2012 and has since managed several capacity-building projects across Egyptian governorates, particularly in the scope of coordinating youth employment programs as well as coaching organizational development for purpose-driven organizations, including Disabled Persons' Organizations (DPOs).In 2017, Maya joined NM's Incubator for innovating early-stage social enterprises as an Incubator Manager.

She received her BSc in Economics from the Faculty of Economics & Political Science at Cairo University in 2008, and her master’s degree in International Development Policy from the Graduate School of International Studies at Seoul National University in 2011.
